Island 9 progress and dredge location

By admin • May 31st, 2010

It is always exciting to go to Cabo Riviera after a few days have passed. Today I was once again blown away. You are probably tired of hearing me say that. You would be too if you came out more than once to see this development. As I drove through the peaceful Pueblo town of La Ribera my eyes were in shock when I saw what was in front of me just down the hill. It was a huge amount of water. I had to sit and figure it out for a little bit to finally realize that it was a bowl. Of course I am not savvy in the technical terms of these things so I am just going to call it a “construction bowl.” Each island is being raised higher than it’s current state. I want to say another meter to meter and a half but I can’t remember for sure. The way they do these bowls is build these walls of dirt all the way around the island. The wall is like 10-12 feet high. Then the pipe that is connected to the dredge is brought in over the wall and positioned for all the soil, sand and water that the dredge sucks up and dumps into this bowl. Strategically placed along the bowl are pipes that will drain the water out of the bowl leaving the sand, soil composite to settle in the bowl. This is how the lots are being formed. Lots are delivered compacted and graded for drainage. It’s really quite interesting and you should come see it your self. The photo images below are small. Click on it once or twice to get a larger size to see what I am talking about.

The dredge has also moved a bunch since a few days earlier and now it is at the corner of the first island of the Artist Village. There was also work being done in all areas of Phase I including Golf Course Lots, the newly released Marina Lots on block #15, Island #8 is drivable and an incredible sight to see. Beachfront Lots have moved further and further down the row. Clearing of the two Artist Village Islands are happening. Weed picking between the rocks and just so much more. Make an appointment for a tour. It really is worth your time.
